Last week, the FBI announced an investigation into handwritten, anonymous [letters threatening Goldman Sachs], which were mailed from Queens, N.Y. to newspapers nationwide at the end of June. According to Tom Boyle, a spokesman for the U.S. Postal Service, investigators have compiled a list of [potential suspects](http://www.wnbc.com/news/13655384/detail.html?rss=ny&psp=news), including former Goldman Sachs employees who may have been seeking to create [negative publicity](http://wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_191144948.html) for the securities firm. This may make sense with the message: “GOLDMAN SACHS. HUNDREDS WILL DIE. WE ARE INSIDE. YOU CANNOT STOP US. A.Q.U.S.A.” Though [Reuters](http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20070706/tpl-uk-goldman-threats-81f3b62.html) hypothesized that the signature, “A.Q.U.S.A.,” may refer to Al Qaeda.
