GOP Blasts Eight Senate Dems On Civil Confinement
Though the civil confinement bill [has passed the State Senate] it did not do so unanimously, and the State's top Republican is making sure that you know just which Democrats voted against the measure, which creates stricter regulations for sex offenders following their release from jail.
"Despite the public's overwhelming support for tougher laws to protect our children from sexual predators, and the strong support of our Governor, these Democratic Senators continue to oppose common sense steps aimed at stopping known, convicted predators from striking again. How many more victims will it take?" said State Republican Party Chairman Joseph Mondello.
Mondello cited for particular scorn Brooklyn's Kevin Parker (pictured) for suggesting that "racist cops" would use the new law to target minorities and Eric Adams for drawing a comparison to children violated by sexual predators to wrongly convicted prisoners who have been "violated" by the system.
