Holy Good Samaritan! Another One
New Yorkers really are just big ol balls of selfless love. Two do-gooders in one week, thats gotta be some kind of record. It seems [a 3-year-old baby boy fell out of a fourth-story window] in a Bronx apartment complex after climbing onto the fire escape early this morning, only to be caught by two pedestrians below! We should have a do-gooder smack down to see if these guys, Pedro Nevarez, 40, and Julio Gonzalez, 43, or [Wesley Autrey, the subway superman](http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2007/01/05/nyc_subway_saviors_actions_merit_money_gifts_and_attention/), is more impressive. Apparently the two men positioned themselves under the baby, Timothy Addo, who [landed on Nevarez's chest, knocking him down, before bouncing into Gonzalez's arms](http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?section=nation_world&id=4907876). The baby was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital and is being treated for cuts and abrasions, but should survive. Detectives are questioning the boys 50-year-old babysitter, who may have opened the window (the only one in the unit not to have bars) to smoke a cigarette, neglecting to close it when she was through. The press will probably come up with a catchy name for her, too, like the Green Goblin or the Joker.
