Independent Yes, Mike No

A new Harris Poll finds that the stage is set for a candidate like Mike Bloomberg, provided that the candidate is not Mike Bloomberg.
Though two-thirds of all voters told the pollster that they would consider voting for an independent presidential candidate in 2008 only 22% said they would like to vote for Bloomberg, while 67% dismissed the idea.
Bloomberg actually finds better support in the South, at 27%, than the East, which gives him 22% of the vote. Nationwide voters also consider Rudy Giuliani to have been a better mayor than Bloomberg by a 51-25 margin, though that number tends to be reversed within the City limits these days.
