Jughead's Gone, The Rest Of The Gang's All Here
| 11 Nov 2014 | 01:25
13-year-old Jughead, a male grizzly bear relocated from the wild 12 years ago, [died today at the Bronx Zoo], where he was well loved. He is survived by his brother, Archie, and two lady grizzlies, Betty and Veronica. It seems hed been ill for months, since undergoing surgery for an abdominal abscess. But perhaps the cause of death was really sheer embarrassment at having been named after a 1940s comic book sidekick. Hopefully grizzly bear heaven resembles Jughead's native mountain habitat. Rest in peace, old friend, rest in peace.
