Problems At The Peace House

A report today indicates that the inner workings of the Crawford Peace House, the apparatus set up by peace mom and "out of Iraq" activist Cindy Sheehan (pictured), is rife with internal struggles and financial mismanagement.

Sara L. Oliver, an activist formerly associated with the organization say that the Crawford Peace House has just under $15,000 in the bank right now, and that tens of thousands of dollars collected during 2005 is unaccounted for. Oliver is demanding an investigation. Quote:

"There are people who have said, `Don't say anything because you'll hurt the peace movement,'" Oliver said. "But if the peace movement isn't pure and transparent and holy as it can be at its heart, then it's just like George Bush: lying, thieving, conniving, backstabbing bastards."
