Superheroes Abound

Is it just me, or does there seem to have been an influx of good Samaritans to NYC this past month? The upside of tragedy is it really reaffirms your faith in humankind. So here’s another one for ya: A little, old Brooklyn lady’s life was saved yesterday when a passerby dashed into her burning building and carried her to safety before firemen arrived on the scene, according to eyewitnesses. [José Liz, 23, is this week’s city superhero.] When this father of three spotted the flames, he flagged down a passing car and enlisted the driver to help rescue anyone trapped inside. Residents on the ground floor told Liz of the woman stuck on the top floor and he and the other unidentified man ran up to save her. And as they carried her downstairs, she said something like ‘Make sure no one else is inside.’ Another selfless New Yorker! Truly inspiring.
