Up In The Sky—It's Not Superman, But Close Enough

Who said good Samaritanism is dead? OK, well I was wrong. [It seems NYC even has a real-life Spidey, and he goes by ][the name of Wesley Autrey]. Yesterday, an 18-year-old man, experiencing some kind of medical problem, fell onto the subway tracks and Manhattanite Autrey, also a Vietnam vet, jumped down after him. Autrey rolled the two of them into the rut between the rails just as a train was approaching. Two trains passed over them, but they were luckily unharmed. According to Autrey, he had originally considered lifting the man back onto the platform, but decided that there wasn’t enough time. Autrey was traveling with his two daughters and refused medical attention. The man whose life he saved was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition. Enjoy those warm and fuzzies while you can; back to the bad news after these messages.
