Aging Prick Hates Negative Press

If you've actually been reading the sports pages for the past few weeks you couldn't draw any other conclusion except this: Roger Clemens will save the Yankees (so far) abysmal season.

Clemens must read different papers, since yesterday he [lashed out] at all "negative" press that has been associated with his comeback. Clemens even took some time to throw out the old "reporters never played, so you can't write about sports" nugget that athletes usually run to when they have no defense. Quote:

"I'm positive. I've always been positive in my life and it won't end. I don't want to be around negative people. If it makes you feel good to write negative stuff, go ahead. But you have never been in this arena to understand what its like. You remember that."

How about you remember this, Roger: you never wrote for a newspaper, so you can't comment on the field of journalism. You don't know what it's like in this arena, man.

If there has been negative press about Clemens, it was totally centered around his "[I don't have to do what everyone else does]" contract that allows him to leave the team and fly home between starts.
