Commit, And Time Warner Will Cut Your Rate

Here's an interesting follow-up to Becca Tucker's [feature this week](/20/36/news&columns/feature.cfm) on the stranglehold cable companies have on the City and how competition can bring prices down.

Yesterday Time Warner Cable sent me a letter informing me that they would provide me with a lower monthly rate if I make a long term commitment to their service for one or two years.

A one-year commitment to their service will give subscribers a 5% increase, and two-years will drop your bill 10%. This makes the company's All-in-One Triple Play package, currently $129.95, to $123.45 or $116.95 depending on how much of a deal you want to make.
