    Edison Con

    A small business was scammed by someone posing as a representative of Con Edison. At 12 noon on Friday, January 10, a local business received a call from someone claiming to be a representative of Con Edison, advising the firm that they owed the utility $1,500 and if they did not wire-transfer the money immediately, their gas would be shut off.

    Furgettaboutit

    A woman failed in her attempt to shoplift a fur coat. At 6 PM on Wednesday, January 8, a 32-year-old female attempted to steal a fur coat from a store on Broadway. Her larcenous ambitions were thwarted, however, when she dropped the fur and ran away. The coat was valued at $3,200.

    Break-in and Takeout

    Someone broke into and burglarized a restaurant. At 7 AM on Tuesday, January 7, an unknown perpetrator broke the front glass window of a restaurant on Columbus Avenue, entered the establishment, and stole $700 in cash from the register. There is no video of the incident.

    i-Yi-Yi

    A woman's iPhone was stolen on the street. At 9 PM on Monday, January 6, an unknown thief snatched a woman's cell phone from her hand on Broadway and ran away. The iPhone was valued at $600.

    Gym Jam

    Someone stole a man's wallet from his gym locker. At 8 PM on Friday, January 10, an unknown perpetrator broke into a man's locker while he was working out at a local gym and stole his wallet and credit cards.
