Dead Body in River Is Suspected Suicide

police believe that a woman's body found dead in the hudson river near west 70th street and the west side highway the morning of may 27 was a suicide.

port authority issued a police report in the beginning of the month of a young woman who jumped off of the george washington bridge into the hudson.

the harbor unit pulled the unidentified body from the water at 8:08 a.m., according to the news website dnainfo. police now believe the woman was under 20, slightly younger than first reported.

an investigation is underway, police said, to confirm whether the bridge jumper and body are related.

"we're trying to link it together," police said.
