Debit Debacle

An unknown perpetrator withdrew money from the account of a 63-year-old man living on East 96th Street. At 5:30 PM on Friday, July 12, the thief withdrew money from an ATM location on Broadway, even though the victim was still in position of his debit card. The senior was notified of the charges by his credit union. Police records did not state the exact amount of money withdrawn, but it must have exceeded $1,000, as the crime was classified as a grand larceny.
