There have been a few great albums released this year (Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago, Black Mountain - In The Future, Xiu Xiu - Women As Lovers), but none compare to what The Walkmen have accomplished on their fourth album of original material. It's a fully-realized, cohesive masterpiece, loaded with lush arrangements inspired by '50s legends like Roy Orbison and Buddy Holly.
