In the evening of Wednesday, April 24, a security guard in a chain drugstore on Second Avenue observed a 39-year-old man taking nine bottles of moisturizer from the shelf and attempting to leave the store without paying for them. The security guard stopped the man at the door, but the man refused to give the bottles back and pulled a knife. After the guard made multiple attempts to get the moisturizer back, the lotion lifter struck the guard's hand, causing a laceration to the guard's left middle finger. The perpetrator was arrested on April 24. The bottles of moisturizer were valued at $78.29.
