A teenaged boy was mugged by a gang of three at the corner of East End Avenue and 86th Street. At 5:10 PM on Tuesday, July 16, a 16-year-old boy was sitting on a park bench when three 15-year-old boys approached him, making conversation about music. One of the boys asked to put his information into the victim's phone. Another asked to try on his glasses. Then the third of the young thugs punched the victim on the left side of his face and took his headphones off the bench. The three muggers fled in an unknown direction. The 16-year-old canceled his cell phone service. The items stolen were a white iPhone 5 valued at $700, black Sennheiser over-the-ear headphones worth $200, and brown Oscar Jacobson Buddy Holly-style glasses valued at $200.
