P-Schools Close To Girls Who Are Open For Business

Sometimes you just don’t know what you got ’till it’s gone. Well, prepare yourself for the loss of New York City's high schools for pregnant girls, as all [four will soon be closed]. Apparently, the institutions are [marred by low test scores](http://wcbstv.com/topstories/local_story_144083533.html), poor attendance and inadequate facilities, and a six-month report commissioned by the Education Department revealed that the students were being treated more like pregnant teens. Apparently, a [2004 attempt to improve attendance](http://www.wnyc.org/news/articles/39194) and achievement scores wasn’t so successful. It's hard to concentrate on biology when you're suffering from morning sickness. Now we’ll just have to deal with the constant reminder of underage sex out and about in public, instead of sending them away to swell and birth in secret. Who knows where pregnant teens will wind up and what they'll do to get there.
