Tuneless and Tearful

At 11:05 p.m. Monday, June 24, a 22-year-old woman was walking on Park Avenue changing songs on her iPhone when a man on a bike snatched her iPhone from her hand. He had ridden his bike onto the southbound side of the sidewalk and grabbed her phone, saying, "Gimme that!" Then, he took off and left the woman crying in the street. A Good Samaritan found her in distress and walked her to the 19th precinct station house. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the cycling cell snatcher. They also were not able to track her iPhone, which had been turned off.
