WAITLIST UPDATE

every zoned student on the kindergarten waitlist for p.s. 166 has been given a space at the west 89th street school.

"there are no lists because the department worked with the community education council to rezone the area," said department of education spokesperson andrew jacob.

in may, 31 area students were on hold for spots at p.s. 166, the only district 3 school with a waitlist for zoned students.

across town on the upper east side, the problem was much worse, with 152 students on waitlists in may; those lists have now shrunk, but there are still 63 students waiting for spots in their zoned kindergartens.
