After several months of renovations, the Doria family announced the grand re-opening of Grace’s Marketplace at 1299 Second Avenue, at the corner of East 68th Street.
The family celebrated the new and improved store last Tuesday by giving out food samples from the Tavola department and Trattoria dining area, and hosting a Happy Hour with samples from neighboring Whiskey & Wine Off 69. They also handed out re-usable shopping bags along with the first issue of the Grace’s Marketplace Magazine.
The date, Nov. 4, marked 29 years since the first Grace’s Marketplace opened on East 71st Street.
The new store features an open-style kitchen with counter seating, which will be available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is run by executive chef Joe Trama. There is also an espresso bar with coffe, tea and pastries, and expanded food sections for Grace’s traditional offerings of Italian and Mediterranean products, fresh produce, meats, seafood, artisanal cheeses, fresh breads and desserts. The store also offers catering and home shopping services.
