And the Sky Is What Color Again?
YOU ONCE AGAIN have the Bureau of Obvious Conclusions to thank. Last week, a "taxi industry consultant," after an exhaustive study, released a startling report that claims a growing percentage of New York cabbies areare you ready for this?"recent" immigrants. Moreover, it was also discovered that most of the city's taxi drivers are Indians, Dominicans, Haitians and Bangladeshis.
Holy moley.
Also in the same report, it was revealed that pine-tree air fresheners are prevalent in city cabs, and that the old checker cabs, once a common sight on New York City streets, don't seem to be around much anymore.
In an appendix, the study also claimed that many falafel joints are owned by Middle Easterners, though the authors admit their research was not as exhaustive as it could have been.
