Attacked in Carl Schurz

A man was attacked, seemingly at random, while inside Carl Schurz Park July 16 at 12:15 a.m. The 41-year-old man who lives two blocks from the park was sitting on a bench near East 84th Street when he heard footsteps behind him. Before he could turn around he was hit in the head with a stick or a baseball bat. He saw several males running north through the park. No statements were made and nothing was stolen.
