BAD ACT

Rep. Carolyn Maloney, New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Council Member Jessica Lappin gathered on Monday to protest changes to the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). According to the Maloney, who released a letter urging the Obama-Biden transition team to correct the new regulations, changes by the current administration would expand access to military families, but chip away at access to the rest of the American workforce. â??This effort to undermine the Family Medical Leave Act shows that when it comes to family values, the current administration is all talk, Maloney said. â??A serious economic downturn is the worst time to ask workers to choose between their jobs and their families or health.
