Bolt Bus Wants East Side Spot
By [Dan Rivoli] For Upper East Siders who want a ticket out of the city, there may be no need to trek downtown to the Chinatown bus lines. Bolt Bus, the company that drives people to nearby cities on the cheap, wants a drop-off and pick-up spot on Lexington Avenue between East 59th and 60th streets. This would be Bolt Bus" third New York City location. There are Bolt Bus stops on West 33rd Street and Seventh Avenue, West 34th Street and Eighth Avenue, and Sixth Avenue between Grand and Watts streets in SoHo. â??This stop will give us more of a presence in the New York City area and give our passengers more flexibility in choosing where to board and de-board while traveling with us, said Bolt Bus spokesperson Timothy Stokes. Travelers on a budget flock to bus companies that operate out of Chinatown and go to Boston, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and other northeastern cities. Tickets are inexpensive, usually between $20 and $40 roundtrip. The Department of Transportation will study the location to see if it is feasible for a Bolt Bus stop, a spokesperson said.
