a thief stole thousands of dollars worth of clothing and jewelry out of a 2004 black subaro oct. 1. the car owner's husband reported to police oct. 11 that he parked the car on west 81st street at amsterdam avenue. he returned 12 hours later and saw that someone had thrown a cobblestone through the back window. the items in the car that were taken included a pair of eyeglasses, $1,800 18-kt gold hoop earrings and three coats valued at $3,040.
