C'mon, See The Noise

Indie rock fans rejoice! [New York Noise] is back on the air with new episodes that start this week. NYN is a local television show that showcases the videos of indie bands (what are “indie” bands, anyway? we aren’t sure, but we think it has something to do with them not being codependent), with interesting takes on the local music scene. NYN started off the new season this past Tuesday with videos from [Of Montreal](http://www.ofmontreal.net/) and [The Knife](http://www.theknife.net/), and a segment that took a look at how some of our local senior citizens perceive young whippersnappers like [Paste](http://www.pastemagazine.com/) coverboys [The Hold Steady](http://www.theholdsteady.com/) and the Stroke himself, [Albert Hammond, Jr. ](http://www.myspace.com/alberthammondjr)

If you weren’t watching Tuesday night, don’t fret. Reruns air Saturday and Sunday nights at 11 & 10 p.m. respectively on NYC TV, which can usually be found on Channel 25. Tune in next Tuesday night, May 29, at 10 p.m. for a blogger war (which you can preview on [YouTube]), and interviews and videos of [Peter Bjorn & John](http://www.peterbjornandjohn.com/), among others.

Oh TV, the opiate of the sofa-ensconced masses. Now you can sit at home and watch your favorite skinny-jeaned hipsters crooning on the boob tube instead of walking down the street to see them in person. But hey, the beer is cheaper at home, and you don’t have to wait in line for the bathroom.
