Man assaulted on 11th Avenue

A 50-year-old man reported that he was randomly assaulted in front of 558 11th Ave. early Saturday. He told police that he was walking south on 11th Avenue when he was punched by a person he didn’t know. He said that the suspect was accompanied by another person and they both fled the scene. He told police that he had no interaction with either of the men prior to being punched. The victim had injuries to his eyes and head as a result of the assault.

Shell casings in front of churchPolice reported that there was an unclassified complaint about spent shell casings found on the street. A 55-year-old man reported to police that he found spent shell casings in front of a church at 315 West 22nd St, Sunday at 5:30 p.m. No incidents have been reported around the location.

Backpack stolen from limoA 34-year-old man reported that his property was stolen from a waiting limo at Eighth Avenue and West 24th Street on April 21 between 7:30 and 10 p.m. The victim told police that he and two friends took the limo to a Rangers game at Madison Square Garden and he left his bag with his laptop, camera, iPad and car keys inside the limo. His bag was gone when he returned. He asked the driver where his bag was and the driver said he didn’t know, but that he had left the limo locked while it was parked at the corner while he went to eat dinner. There was no damage or forcible entry shown on the vehicle.

Shoplifters caughtPolice arrested a 31-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man for petit larceny in front of Brooklyn Fare at Ninth Avenue and West 38th Street Friday at 9:30 p.m. An employee told the police that the couple took a sandwich, salad, cheese and other items and left the store without paying, then jumped into a cab in an attempt to get away. The employee saw the cab they went into and the vehicle was stopped.

Man pickpocketedA 47-year-old man reported that he was pickpocketed while inside the No. 8 club at 357 West 16th St. early Friday morning. He told police that he had his wallet when he went into the club and while he was dancing with friends, he was bumped and jostled a number of times. When he left the club and went to get a cab, he realized that his wallet was missing.

candy theft at 7-ElevenAn employee of the 7-Eleven at 302 Eighth Ave. reported that candy was stolen from the store sometime Saturday. The employee told police that he was restocking merchandise in the store that day at 8 a.m. when he noticed that some of the merchandise was missing. He checked the video surveillance and someone taking more than 100 packages of candy, valued at $329. No arrests have been made.

Harassment over no doctor’s noteA 30-year-old man reported that he was harassed inside 605 West 42nd St. on April 21 at 12:40 p.m. while he was working in the management office. He told police that he called one of his employees into his office because the worker didn’t have a doctor’s note as requested. He told the employee that he needed to leave and return when he had a note. The suspect then got up, took off his sweater and charged at the victim, spitting at him and banging on his desk. The suspect was escorted out of the premises but was not arrested.
