Galaxy AgonyJudging from its recent popularity among shoplifters, the Samsung Galaxy phone may be gaining ground on the vaunted Apple iPhone. At 5 p.m. on May 4, two men entered the AT&T store at 2195 Broadway and lifted two Galaxy phones valued at $1,400.

Steal Your MedsWith even over-the-counter medications bearing such high prices these days, drug stores have become regular targets for thieves. In one of the two most recent local incidents, two men entered the Duane Reade store located at 1889 Broadway at 9 p.m. on April 26, and made off with medications worth at $2,000. A similar theft happened on the morning of May 1, when two men — possibly the same duo — entered the Reade location at 4 Amsterdam Ave. and took $2,600 in medications. The nature of the medications was not disclosed in either case.

Central Park WorstDespite all the pickpockets in the city, you are still probably safer keeping your wallet on your person, than in your car. At 10 p.m. on April 30, a 54-year-old man parked his car at 68th Street and Central Park West. When he returned, he discovered that someone had broken into the vehicle and removed his wallet. No property value was stated, but a number of the man’s credit and debit cards were taken.

Au Revoir ZaskarYet another parked bike took an unauthorized hike. At 2 p.m. on April 29, a 27-year-old man left his bicycle parked outside 125 Columbus Avenue. When he returned, the two-wheeler was gone. It was a Zaskar mountain bike valued at $2,500.
