Man slashed on West 29th A man was seriously hurt when he was repeatedly slashed on the face, arms and back on West 29th Street on the early evening of August 17, police said.

The 27-year-old man was accosted by another man who came at him from in between two parked cars just east of Seventh Avenue, police said. The attacker then ran south on Seventh Avenue following the 5:20 p.m. incident. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital in serious but stable condition.

Police are asking for assistance in identifying the attacker, who was described as black, 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet 6 inches tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue sweatpants, red sneakers and black gloves.

High Line vendors scuffleA 56-year-old vendor at the High Line told police that she was harassed inside the park at the northwest corner of 10th Avenue and West 16th Street Sunday morning. She told police that she was setting up a vendor station about 7 a.m. when another vendor shoved her, threw items at her and spoke provocatively. The two were arguing over vendor spots in the park, she said.

Woman harassedA 37-year-old woman reported that she was harassed in front of 252 Eighth Ave. on Friday, August 11 around 2 p.m. She told police that a stranger came up to her and slapped her on the head without provocation.

Man arrested on weapons chargesPolice arrested a 29-year-old man for criminal possession of a weapon Friday, August 18 at 8:30 p.m. inside the subway station at Eighth Avenue and 14th Street. Police said that the man was seen carrying a gravity knife while inside the station. When he was stopped, he told police that he carries the knife for protection.

Woman arrested for assault Police arrested a 21-year-old woman for assault inside the Artichoke Pizza at 114 10th Ave. last Friday at 12:45 a.m. An employee told police that he was attempting to remove the woman from the restaurant because she was irate and she allegedly punched the worker in the face. Police said that she also scratched and punched the employee in the arm and hand, causing multiple scratches
