Fur FliesFurs are still popular — certainly among thieves. At 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14, a 25-year-old man stole a $1,200 fur coat from the Century 21 store at 1972 Broadway. He won’t be showing off the garment any time soon, however, as police arrested and charged him with grand larceny.
Unbolted and BoltedNo matter how you secure your bicycle, a determined thief will have a go. At 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, a 29-year-old man locked up his bike to a scaffolding outside 17 West 60th St. When he returned, he found that someone had removed a bolt on the scaffolding and taken the vehicle, a Highlight electric valued at $1,070.
Panting for PantsOne shoplifter apparently had a Jones for jeans. At 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, a man entered the Lululemon Athletica store at 2139 Broadway and stole 12 pairs of jeans valued $1,436.
Gym SkimLeave valuables in your locker, and you could soon be a lacker. At 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, a 66-year-old woman returned to her locked locker in the Equinox health club at 160 Columbus Ave. to find that someone had removed her cell phone, credit cards, and property totaling $1,300.
Cell KnellHow did shoplifters make do before cell phones were invented? At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, a man entered the AT&T store at 2066 Broadway and took off with two iPhone 6S models, making a haul of $1,400. There have been no arrests to date.
