Laptops swiped An IT person for the Morgans Hotel Group at 475 Tenth Ave. reported that two laptops belonging to the company were stolen Feb. 24 around 4:50 p.m. He told police that video surveillance footage showed someone removing the computers and leaving five minutes later. He said that multiple people had access to the office area because the doors were unlocked during office hours. Several people work where the laptops were stored.

Woman conned out of almost $1KA 20-year-old woman told police that she was the victim of an apartment scam. She told police that she contacted a woman through apartments.com on Feb. 21 and the woman told the victim that she needed a $950 down payment to view an apartment that was available at 406 West 31st St. The victim sent the money to the woman through PayPal but she failed to show up on to two scheduled meetings to show the apartment. The victim then contacted the building’s management and they said that no one by the woman’s name is leasing out an apartment in the building or lives there.

man arrested after bathroom break IN subwayPolice said that a 25-year-old man resisted arrest after he was caught urinating in the tracks at the A/C/E 14th Street station early Saturday morning. The man reportedly entered the catwalk area of the downtown-bound tracks. He then began to urinate on the tracks and when police approached him, he ran away to avoid arrest. When he was pursued and captured, physical force was used to restrain him. When police asked for his hands, he laid down on them, refusing to give them up to be cuffed.

Shampoo bandit bustedPolice arrested a 30-year-old man for petit larceny inside the Rite Aid at 300 West 20th St. on Feb. 27. A store employee told police that the suspect concealed 22 bottles of Pantene shampoo in a bag and left without paying. The employee said that the merchandise was valued at $74.

Assault on West 40th StreetAn 18-year-old man reported that he was assaulted at the southeast corner of West 40th Street and 10th Avenue on Feb. 27 at 3:30 p.m. He told police that an unknown man pushed him into a fence and punched him in the face with a closed fist. The victim said that he was walking down the street at the time and police said that it was unclear what provoked the attack.

Pricey bike stolen on West 23rdA 32-year-old man reported that his bicycle was stolen from where it was locked Feb. 28 between noon and 1:45 p.m. He told police that someone he didn’t know removed the $800 bike from the pole to which it was locked.

Coat stolen from NYSCA 39-year-old man told police that his coat was stolen from the New York Sports Club at 128 Eighth Ave. on Feb. 19 between 3 and 5 p.m. He said that he put the coat on a rack inside the gym and when he returned for it, it was no longer on the rack.
