Man interviews for job, steals computerPolice arrested a 19-year-old man for grand larceny inside HK Hells Kitchen at 523 Ninth Ave. April 8 12:45 p.m. The owner of the restaurant told police that the suspect came into the restaurant for a job interview. During the interview, a laptop was on the chair next to the suspect. At one point in the interview, the restaurant owner left the area and went downstairs to his office. When he returned, he saw that the suspect had left the location and the computer was gone. There was video of the incident and the suspect was arrested shortly after.
Woman harassed while waiting for taxiA 24-year-old woman told police that she was harassed near the southeast corner of 10th Avenue and West 17th Street April 9 at 5:05 a.m. She told police that while she was waiting for a taxi, a man she didn’t know aggressively followed her, touching her multiple times and saying, “come on,” to her. She said that she told him to stop multiple times and she felt unsafe during the encounter. No arrests have been made.
Woman wanted for harassment by dog treatA 60-year-old man reported that he was harassed in his building on West 28th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues April 8 at 10:30 p.m. The victim told police that he was sitting in his building lobby talking to his doorman when a woman walked over and started talking to him. He said that she then took a dog treat and shoved it in his face. There were no reported injuries.
Woman busted for snatching cashPolice arrested a 41-year-old woman for grand larceny April 10 at 4:45 a.m. at the southwest corner of Ninth Avenue and West 18th Street. The victim told police that he was riding in a taxi with the suspect and when they were about to get out, she grabbed $770 in cash from the victim’s pocket and fled west on West 20th Street at Eighth Avenue. The victim pursued her and she was arrested by police.
Aggressive cab driver punched brake lightsA woman reported that her car was damaged during an accident at the northeast corner of 10th Avenue and West 30th Street April 9 at 6 p.m. She told police that a taxi driver hit her car from behind and when both drivers stopped, the suspect got out of his cab and started yelling at the victim. She said that he then punched both her rear brake lights, causing damage, and fled the scene in his taxi.
Man arrested for theft of pain killersPolice arrested a 50-year-old man inside the Rite Aid at 300 West 20th Street April 8 at 4:21 p.m. A security guard told police that the suspect took 15 bottles of pain relief medication, including eight bottles of Aleve, 4 bottles of Tylenol and 3 bottles of Aleve PM, and concealed them in his jacket.
