Man wanted for repeated Slurpee theftAn employee of the 7-Eleven at 194 Seventh Avenue reported last Sunday at 3:45 p.m. that a man repeatedly stole from this store location. She told police that the man continuously comes into the store, takes a small cup of Slurpee and leaves without paying.
Man assaulted at 14th St.A 19-year-old man reported that he was harassed inside the 14th Street/Seventh Avenue 1/2/3 station at last Saturday at 10:30 p.m. He told police that while he was on the uptown platform, an unknown man approached him and punched him in the face. The victim refused medical attention at the scene. No arrests have been made.
Officer assaulted at Port AuthorityPolice arrested a 22-year-old homeless man for assault inside the Port Authority bus terminal at Dyer Avenue, between West 40th and 41st Streets last Friday at 6:06 a.m. Police were attempting to wake up the suspect, who was lying on the sidewalk. He then started throwing punches at the officer and was arrested.
Man arrested for taxi driver assaultPolice arrested a 29-year-old man for assaulting a taxi driver in front of 250 West 16th Street last Sunday at 3:40 a.m. Police said that the victim was driving his cab when the suspect punched him in the face, causing swelling, redness and pain. No further information was available about what provoked the attack.
Bag stolen on West 22nd StreetA 68-year-old man reported that his bag was stolen from in front of 409 West 22nd Street last Thursday around 10:30 a.m. He told police that he put the bag on top of his car and drove off, forgetting that he left the bag there. He went back to the location 20 minutes later but didn’t see his bag, and he told police that he believes someone took the bag without his permission. The total value of his property, which included his cell phone, tablet and passport, was an estimated $300.
Woman harassed at West 21st and Eighth A 42-year-old woman told police that she was harassed at the southwest corner of West 21st Street and Eighth Avenue last Thursday at 9:50 p.m. She said that she was walking her dog near her apartment when a woman with large glasses who she did not know shouted obscenities toward her, making her feel uncomfortable and annoyed.
Found phone turned in to precinctA Good Samaritan turned a lost cell phone into the 10th precinct last Sunday at 4:30 a.m. The 54-year-old man said that he found the iPhone in front of the Dream Hotel at 355 West 16th Street. He was able to find the number of the phone owner’s mother in the contact list and the victim was identified.
Car broken into at 12th Ave. A 25-year-old woman reported that her car was broken into when it was parked at the corner of 12th Avenue and West 26th Street last Saturday between 10 p.m. and midnight. She said that she parked at the corner to ride her bike, and when she returned around midnight, she noticed that the back passenger’s side window had been broken and two backpacks, clothing, cosmetics, sunglasses, a phone charger and a key to her apartment had been stolen.
Drunk driver arrested on West 17th
Police arrested a 32-year-old man for drunk driving in front of 453 West 17th Street last Friday at 2 a.m. after the suspect was involved in a motor vehicle accident at that location. Police said an eyewitness reported seeing the suspect hit a parked car. After police flagged him down, they said, the man was unsteady on his feet, had a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and had watery, bloodshot eyes. Police said that his BAC level was .16.
