Woman harassed on West 34thA 31-year-old woman reported that she was harassed while she was walking on West 34th Street between Ninth and 10th Avenues Friday at 3 a.m. She told police that a man began walking in her direction then stopped in front of her and said, “Be calm, don’t be scared, I just want to kiss you.” When she ignored him and continued to walk towards her apartment, she said that the suspect yelled at her, “Why are you f---ing with me?” She told police that the man is a stranger. No arrests have been made.

Man arrested for 10th Avenue assaultPolice arrested a 21-year-old man for assault in front of 288 10th Ave. Saturday at 3:45 a.m. The victim reported that he and the suspect got into an argument that turned into a physical fight. He told police that the suspect punched him in the face multiple times, causing bleeding, redness and swelling. The victim said that following the assault, the suspect ran into the 10th Avenue building and after police did a canvass, the suspect was arrested. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

Man arrested in random assault A 28-year-old man was arrested for the assault of a woman inside 357 West 16th St. Saturday at 4 a.m. The victim told police that she was inside the club socializing with her friends when the suspect approached her and struck her across the face and neck with a glass bottle, severely cutting her and bruising her neck and face. She said that the man was a stranger, and she had also been dancing in the club prior to the assault.

Livery driver robbedA 26-year-old livery driver reported that a fare stole cash from him while he was working on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 2:10 a.m. at the northeast corner of 10th Avenue and West 15th Street. The driver told police that he picked the suspect up at JFK airport and when he dropped the fare off at the 10th Avenue intersection, the suspect handed him $50 in cash and asked for change. While the driver had the cash in his hands, the suspect snatched all of it and fled. The driver told police that it was about $500 in cash.

Man assaulted on W. 25thA 22-year-old man reported that he was assaulted by three people in front of 425 West 25th St. Thursday at 6:30 p.m. He told police that he was having an argument with a woman that he knew when she punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. He reported that there was another woman and a man who were working with his friend with the intent to cause physical injury, punching and kicking him while he was on the ground. The victim told police that he suffered pain in his jaw and ribs, as well as swelling to his left eye. Police searched the area but the three suspects fled the scene.

No arrests in construction site theftAn employee working in the construction site at 501 West 30th St. reported that some equipment was stolen from the site sometime between 2 p.m. last Wednesday and 6:30 a.m. Friday. He told police that he left the control box for the man lift out overnight and when he went to check on it, discovered that it was missing. He reported that the control box was seen the previous day and multiple people had access to the area throughout that time. He told police that the box was valued over $1,000.
