Cab driver yells homophobic slurTwo men reported that a cab driver said a homophobic slur to them while they were trying to get a taxi at the northeast corner of West 34th Street and 10th Avenue Dec. 10 at 6:50 p.m. Police said that a man was walking with his boyfriend and one of the drivers he stopped while trying to get a cab said, “I have my lights off, you stupid faggot,” then drove north on 10th Avenue.

residents harassedA 59-year-old resident of a building on West 24th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues reported that he was harassed while sleeping in his apartment on Nov. 18 around 8 p.m. The victim told police that one of his neighbors called him a faggot and a queer. The victim reported the incident Dec. 10.

More recently A 55-year-old resident of a building on West 25th Street between Ninth and 10th Avenues reported Dec. 9 at 2:40 p.m. that one of her neighbors has been harassing her. She told police that the man has been yelling and screaming in the hallway of her building and she is afraid to confront him. She said that at one point he told her, “I’m going to get a female to fight you.”

Woman punched in restaurantA 22-year-old woman reported that she was punched inside the Artichoke Pizza at 116 10th Avenue Dec. 10 at 2:25 a.m. She told police that a person she didn’t know hit her in the mouth. No further information was available about what prompted the attack and no arrests have been made.

Cab driver assaulted A taxi driver reported that she was assaulted in front of 289 10th Ave. Dec. 8 just before 5 a.m. Police said that the driver was picking the passenger up when an unknown man pushed her to the ground. The victim told police that she got into an argument with another driver about who would be picking up the customer.

Trespasser arrestedPolice arrested a 39-year-old woman for trespassing inside the Chelsea Elliott Houses inside 415 West 25th Street Dec. 9 at 3:20 a.m. Police said that the suspect unlawfully entered the NYCHA building and remained there without permission to do so.

Dog hit, injuredA 57-year-old man’s dog was injured at the northeast corner of West 22nd Street and Eighth Avenue on Dec. 3 around 10:15 a.m. The victim told police that a car was driving east on West 22nd Street and made a left turn through a red light, hitting the victim’s dog while they were crossing the street. The dog’s owner said that they had the right of way to cross. The dog was injured but not in critical condition. Police said that the driver called 911 and told an officer that he returned to the scene but couldn’t find the victim or his dog.
