Taxi driver, passenger arrested Police arrested a 27-year-old taxi driver for threatening a passenger, who was also arrested, at the southeast corner of 10th Avenue and West 36th Street Friday, July 21, at 10:45 p.m. The 33-year-old passenger told police that the driver punched him in the face, and the driver said that the passenger punched him, bit his arm and hit him on the back of the head, causing a cut. The passenger said that the driver also removed a tire iron from his trunk and approached him in a threatening manner. Police did not have further information about what prompted the fight.

BikeS stolen A 44-year-old man reported that his bike was stolen while it was parked in front of 76 Ninth Avenue last Wednesday, July 19, between 2 and 7 p.m. He told police that he locked the bike in front of his apartment that afternoon and when he went to check on it a few hours later, he saw that the lock had been cut and the bike was missing.

And on Saturday, July 22, a 27-year-old woman reported that her bike was stolen while it was locked in front of 88 10th Avenue between 12:50 and 1:30 p.m. She told police that she locked the bike to the rack outside Chelsea Market and when she returned, she found that an unknown person had clipped her lock and stole her bike. She told police that the bike was valued at $600.

Assault arrestA 24-year-old man was arrested for assaulting a 33-year-old cab driver while it was parked at the northeast corner of 10th Avenue and West 16th Street Saturday, July 22, at 2:15 a.m. The victim told police that the suspect punched him in the face, causing pain in his right eye. The victim was able to hold the suspect at the scene until police arrives. No further information was available about the reason for the assault.

Phone stolen, tracked A 23-year-old woman reported that her iPhone was stolen while she was inside Tao Downtown at 92 Ninth Avenue Sunday, July 23, at 1:45 a.m. She told police that she was sitting on the couch inside the club when she left her phone there. When she went back to look for it, the phone was gone and she said that she was able to track it to an address on East 51st Street. There was no word on whether the phone was recovered.

Man arrested for punching bouncerPolice arrested a 27-year-old man for assaulting a bouncer inside the Dream Hotel at 355 West 16th Street Sunday, July 23, at 8:47 p.m. Police said that the suspect struck the bouncer in the face, bloodying his lip. No further information was available about the cause of the dispute.

hit-and-runA 70-year-old woman reported that her car was hit by another driver who left the scene near the northeast corner of West 24th Street and 12th Avenue Friday, July 21, at 6:20 p.m. She told police that she was driving north on 12th Avenue when an unknown vehicle attempted to change lanes and collided with her vehicle. She said that the other driver fled the scene without exchanging insurance information.
