Red Rider RobberA marauder on a bicycle got away with a lot more than the usual cell phone. At 12:17 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, a 30-year-old man entered the Ermenegildo Zegna boutique at 200 Vesey Street, too, sunglasses, a bag and other items, and fled on a red bicycle. The merchandise stolen included a pair of sunglasses valued at $325, a bag worth $1,395, a wallet priced at $595, a pouch tagged at $895, and a suitcase costing $1,395, making a total haul of $4,605.
Surgical Headlight MissingAt 7 p.m. on Monday, September 25, a 37-year-old man parked his car in front of 325 North End Avenue. When he returned the following morning at 8 a.m. several items inside the car were missing. There was no damage to the car, and the victim told police he must have left his car unlocked. The items stolen included a surgical headlight valued at $4,000, a Reining sweatshirt priced at $180, and Lyle women’s shoes tagged at $150.
Packing ProblemAt 11 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, a 59-year-old woman was packing her black 2012 BMW X5 at the northwest corner of Broadway and Cortlandt Street for a trip to Long Island. She had left the back hatch open while she was packing her belongings in the front of the vehicle and then discovered that someone had removed her camera bag from the rear hatch. The bag also contained credit cards. The items stolen included a Canon camera valued at $3,000, camera lenses worth $800, plus a bag, wallet, credit cards, and keys.
Locker RobberyAt 3:35 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, a 51-year-old woman left her property in an unlocked locker inside a fitness studio at 161 Sixth Avenue. When she returned from her shower five minutes later several items were missing. The items, presumably stolen, included a T. Anthony bag valued at $750, an iPhone 6s worth $350, a Larss on &Jennings watch priced at $300, Ray-Ban glasses valued at $300a credit card, a driver’s license and other items.
Bag StolenA man from London probably wished he had one of the Queen’s Guards with him as he ate a late-night meal outdoors. At 11 p.m. on Friday, September 29, the 35-year-old was sitting outside the Watermark Bar at 78 South Street enjoying a meal with his bag next to him. About a half an hour later he noticed that the bag was missing. The bag included a Lenovo laptop valued at $2,000, and a pair of Bose headphones worth $250.
