roommate arrested for bag theftA 29-year-old woman was arrested on grand larceny charges inside 450 West 42nd St. Friday, Dec. 4. A 24-year-old woman said that she was moving into an apartment at the building when she left a piece of luggage unattended in the freight elevator. The suspect, who turned out to be the victim’s new roommate, took the bag to the building’s lost and found desk. About two hours later, the suspect went to lost and found and claimed she lost the bag. The guard at the desk handed the bag over to her because she identified the property inside the bag, which included almost $4,000 worth of clothing.

Rainbow Store customer harassedA 39-year-old customer at the Eighth Avenue Rainbow Station reported that he was harassed inside the adult business over the weekend. The victim told police that he entered a viewing booth on Saturday evening, Dec. 5, inside the store when an unknown person kicked the door of the booth open and demanded that he leave, causing the victim to feel alarmed and annoyed, police said. He told police that it was possible the unknown person who kicked the door in was an employee at the store.

Company laptop stolen at PH-DA 27-year-old man reported that his laptop was stolen while he was inside the PH-D Rooftop Lounge at 355 West 16th St. Dec. 2. He told police that he had the computer, which belonged to his employer, on a table and left it unattended while having drinks from 10 p.m. to midnight. The laptop was gone when he returned, he told police.

Man robbed at Highline HotelA guest at the Highline Hotel on 10th Avenue. reported that some of his property was stolen last between 9 and 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 3. He told police that the suspect took items from the room while he was out walking his dog that Thursday. The victim said that he knew the suspect through the gay social networking app scruff.com. He told police that the suspect took two overcoats, a Brooks Brothers bag, Nike sweatpants, $800 in cash and a briefcase. In all the reported stolen property amounted to $2,615. The incident was reported on Sunday.

Man busted for assault after disagreement between tenantsPolice arrested a 35-year-old man for assault early on Saturday, Dec. 5, inside 412 West 19th St. A 20-year-old man told police that he got into an argument with the man who was arrested while on the third floor of the building. The victim said that the dispute was about noise in the building and the suspect grabbed the victim by the hair, hitting his face and causing scratches.

Car window broken by brickA 31-year-old man reported that his car was damaged while it was parked in front of 413 West 14th St. Friday, Dec. 4. He told the police that someone threw a brick through the passenger’s side window, breaking it and causing $600 in damage. He said that nothing had been stolen from the vehicle.
