cell phone snatched Police caution cell phone users to beware of cell phone snatchers riding bicycles. At 1 p.m. on Sept. 18, a 22-year-old man was walking at 71st Street and Central Park West when an unidentified bike rider swooped by and grabbed his cell phone from his hand. The stolen cell was an iPhone valued at $600.

Oy EddySometimes it seems as if you pay too high a price to have nice stuff. At 4 p.m. on Sept. 24, a 70-year-old man parked his Fat Chance Yo Eddy outside the Housing Works thrift shop at 306 Columbus Avenue. When he came out, it was gone. The stolen bike is valued at $3,500.

Lot PlotA motorist had a little less after he left his car at a local parking lot. A 27-year-old man had parked his car at a lot located at 49 West 73rd St. When he returned to pick up the car at noon on Sept. 17, the passenger’s-side front window had been opened and his wallet, containing credit cards and $100 cash, was missing.

Ex RolexWhile the wage earner is away, burglars will play. When a 26-year-old woman returned home to her apartment inside 239 West 63rd St. at 6 p.m. on Sept. 16, she discovered that an unknown intruder had made off with a Rolex watch valued at $12,000. Police are investigating the incident.
