Numerous hit-and-runs reportedFour people reported that they were involved in hit-and-run accidents in the last week.

A 56-year-old woman told police that she was driving near the intersection of Ninth Avenue and West 28th Street mid-afternoon on Feb. 2 when a person driving a black car hit her vehicle and fled the scene.

At 9 p.m. that day, a 53-year-old woman told police her car was hit by an unknown vehicle from behind at the southeast corner of 11th Avenue and West 16th Street. The victim told police that the collision caused damage to the rear of her vehicle.

On Feb. 4, a 57-year-old woman reported that she was involved in an accident at the northeast corner of 12th Avenue and West 34th Street at 7:55 p.m. She told police that she was making a right turn when the vehicle driving next to her turned into her car, striking the vehicle, causing damage. She said that the person who hit her car didn’t stay to wait for a police report.

And on the late morning of Feb. 5, a 64-year-old man reported that his car was damaged while he was driving at the northwest corner of West 33rd Street and 11th Avenue. He told police that he was trying to make a right turn from 11th Avenue onto West 33rd Street from the right lane when a driver in the left lane attempted to make a right turn as well, causing a collision. The driver who hit him left the scene of the accident.

Taxi driver spits at man A 45-year-old man reported that a taxi driver spit at him when he was at the northeast corner of Ninth Avenue and West 23rd Street Feb. 2 at about 8: 30 p.m. He told police that he was on the sidewalk and the spit hit him in the face, but it was unclear what prompted the incident. The driver was not arrested.

Man arrested for bent MetroCards Police arrested a 49-year-old man for criminal possession of a forged instrument on an uptown E train inside the 14th Street/8th Avenue station Feb. 4 at 12:30 a.m. Police stopped the suspect on an uptown E train because he was laying across multiple seats, in violation of transit rules and regulations. When he was searched, police found that he was in possession of 49 bent MetroCards.

Man busted for marijuana Police arrested an 18-year-old man inside 426 West 27th Drive last Feb. 4 at 6:45 p.m. after spotting him with alleged marijuana in a small clear baggie. When an officer attempted to arrest him, the suspect threw the bag to the ground and tried to run off. Police said that he was inside the building without permission and was not a resident there. When he was searched, police found that he was in possession of two large containers of marijuana and a clear baby bottle with six ounces of alleged liquid codeine. The suspect was charged with resisting arrest.
