Clothesing InPolice collared a clothing shoplifter. At 2 p.m. on Aug. 20, a 56-year-old woman entered the Century 21 store at 1972 Broadway and attempted to make off with $1,500 worth of clothing. She was subsequently arrested and charged with grand larceny.

Trying StationA woman encountered less than good fellowship at a local YMCA recently. At 5:30 p.m. Aug. 18, a 44-year-old woman lay her backpack in the drying station of the YMCA on West 63rd Street. When she returned, a number of her belongings were missing, including her wallet, $50 in cash, and a variety of credit cards.

Written OffAn employee at an area stationery boutique worked a little too hard on his or her own behalf. At 10 a.m. on Aug. 16, an inventory audit at the Papyrus location on 209 Columbus Ave. revealed that someone on staff had stolen some $2,000 worth of jewelry.

Unchained and GainedWhat would a summer Crime Watch column be without a stolen bicycle story? At 11 a.m. on Aug. 16, a 42-year-old man left his bike locked and chained up outside 1880 Broadway. When he returned, his bike was gone. The two-wheeler taken was a black carbon-fiber Wilier valued at $2,000.
