2 Women Arrested on assault chargesCutting words led to cutting wounds recently. At 5:08 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, a 34-year-old man had an altercation with a woman at 63 West 109th Street, when another woman slashed his left forearm with a sharp object, cutting him deeply. The victim told police that the 30-year-old had also struck him multiple times with a metal pipe. He was taken to St. Luke’s hospital to receive stitches. Bianca Fries, 31, and Chiniqua Krikland, 30, were arrested April 8 and charged with assault, police said.

DeliveranceA delivery man got justice after a youth his bike went missing. At midnight on Tuesday, March 28, a 21-year-old man had just made a delivery to West 105th Street near West End Avenue and was approached by a 17-year-old man who held what appeared to be a broomstick and demanded the bike and bike lock. The deliveryman complied but later was told by a friend that his bike was now sitting in front of Columbus Avenue, near 83rd Street. The victim went to that address, recognized his bike and saw the suspected bike thief inside the building. He identified the bad guy to responding police, and Yobani Vasquez was arrested Monday, April 3, and charged with robbery.

Virus ViolencePolice arrested a man after the threat of violence escalated a shoplifting incident to a robbery. At 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, a loss-prevention employee inside the Walgreens at 2575 Broadway saw a man remove nail polish and lip gloss valued at about $1,000 and leave the store, police said. When the employee tried to stop the thief, the latter made a stabbing motion with a sharp object in his hand and told the employee that he had HIV. Raul Vargas, 40, was arrested later in the day and charged with robbery.

HousecreeperAt 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, a 38-year-old woman living at 215 West 91st Street realized that jewelry valued at about $20,000 was missing from the jewelry box she kept on a livingroom bookshelf. She had been away the previous weekend and had last seen the jewelry intact on March 2. She told police that the only entrance to her apartment was the front door, and there were no signs of forced entry. She told police the only people who had keys to the apartment were her super and two previous housekeepers. The missing items include a diamond necklace, diamond earrings, a watch, a platinum wedding band and a diamond wedding band.

DiscontentedA who kept his tools and other valuables inside a metal container in the basement of 242 West 104th St. told police that numerous tools, including a jigsaw, screw gun, nail gun and guitar pedal, went missing sometime between February 27 and March 27. He told police that the metal container had a door with a lock on it, but the top the container was open and not sealed. The missing items were valued at $3,640.
