Man arrested for drunk driving Police arrested a 27-year-old man for intoxicated driving after he caused an accident at the northwest corner of 10th Avenue and West 15th Street on the morning of July 15. The suspect went through a red light at the intersection, causing a three-car accident at about 6:30 a.m., police said. Police said that he blew a .14 on a Breathalyzer at the scene. Police said that the suspect told them he had one beer three hours before the accident.
Man assaulted Police arrested a two men, one 35 the other 30, on assault charges following an altercation inside Tao Lounge at 369 West 16th St. July 16. The victim told police that he was waiting in line for the bathroom about 1:30 a.m. at the club when the two suspects punched him, cutting his lip and a swelling his right eye. No information was available about what started the dispute.
Wallet stolen A 20-year-old man reported that his wallet and passport were stolen from Flash Factory at 229 West 28th St. some time between 11 p.m. July 14 and 2 a.m. July 15. He told police that he left his bag on the table inside the bar and when he returned, he noticed that his passport and wallet had been taken out of the bag.
driver arrested on Ninth Ave.Police arrested a 22-year-old man for intoxicated driving July 15 at 4 a.m. at the northwest corner of Ninth Avenue and West 22nd Street. Police said that the suspect was driving the car the wrong way on Ninth Avenue before he was stopped and when police questioned him, he reportedly said, “I had five drinks.” Police said that he blew .14 on a Breathalyzer.
Man harassed on Eighth AvenueA 25-year-old man reported that he was harassed in front of 206 Eighth Ave. July 16. He told police that he got into an argument with a man in front of the building while he was walking down the sidewalk about 1:30 a.m. He said that the man became very irate and began throwing his own belongings onto the ground, causing the victim to be alarmed and annoyed.
Keyholes superglued by pranksterA 34-year-old man reported that his apartment on West 24th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues was damaged sometime between July 14 at midnight and 3 a.m. July 17. He told police that someone he didn’t know damaged his apartment’s front door locks by supergluing the keyholes shut. No arrests have been made.
Man arrested after dine-and-ditchPolice arrested a 24-year-old man for criminal mischief inside La Vela at 558 11th Avenue July 17 at 9:30 p.m. Police said that the suspect ordered food at the restaurant but then broke dishes and refused to pay his bill, which totaled $52.82. He was arrested after he left the restaurant.
Car damaged in hit-and-runA 23-year-old man reported that his car was damaged while he was driving at the northeast corner of 12th Avenue and West 41st Street July 15 at 9:30 p.m. The victim said that he was driving west on West 41st Street when a grey taxi merged into his lane and hit his car, causing damage to the passenger’s side door and rear bumper. The driver left the scene of the accident without exchanging information or waiting for police. No injuries were reported.
Man busted for bent MetroCardsPolice arrested a 57-year-old man for criminal possession of a forged instrument after he was caught selling water inside the 14th Street/Eighth Avenue subway station July 16 at 1:55 p.m. Police said that the suspect was selling Poland Spring water for $1 a bottle and when he was searched, he was in possession of two bent MetroCards.
