Courtside FoulA pickup game took on a new meaning for an unfortunate Upper West Side basketball player. At 5 p.m. on Oct. 15, a 26-year-old man left his belongings unattended while he played basketball at West 77th Street and Riverside Park. When he looked for his stuff, he found that it was gone, notably, a phone and credit cards with a total value of $615.

Good BreakPolice nabbed a thief who broke into a parked car. At 6:30 a.m. on Oct. 14, a man returned to his car parked on West 68th and Broadway to discover that someone had broken in and stolen his wallet and other belongings valued at $1,755. Police later arrested a 48-year-old male suspect and charged him with grand larceny.

Larceny of the CenturyAt 2 p.m. on Sept. 29, a 31-year-old woman went into the Century 21 store at 1972 Broadway and shoplifted a number of bags with a total value of $1,200.

IgnobleAt 5 p.m. on Oct. 15, a 37-year-old woman left her bag unattended in the Barnes & Noble store at 2289 Broadway. When she next checked her bag, she discovered that her wallet was missing. Sad to say, unauthorized credit card charges of an unspecified amount showed up later.
