EAST SIDE TRAINS IMPROVE
By [Dan Rivoli] While Upper East Side residents eagerly await the new Second Avenue Subway, they can take solace that their only train line's the 4/5 express and the local 6's improved this year, according to the Straphangers Campaign. In its annual [State of the Subway report](http://www.straphangers.org/statesub10/), the transportation advocacy group found that the 4/5/6 lines's one of the most crowded subway lines's broke down less often than last year and are cleaner. The 6 train was called the fourth best line in the 22-train subway system. The 4 and 5 trains ranked ninth and 11th, respectively. Overall, the report found that this year the subway system improved. Nearly all the train lines are cleaner, half had clearer subway announcements and 16 subway lines broke down less than last year.
