ES POL BACKS SCHNEIDERMAN

By [Dan Rivoli] East Side Council Member Dan Garodnick threw his support to fellow Manhattanite Eric Schneiderman, the state senator running for attorney general. With Garodnick"s support, Schneiderman"s campaign announced that he got endorsements from Manhattan"s entire City Council delegation. Garodnick called Schneiderman a reformer in Albany. â??On behalf of consumers, tenants and straphangers, Eric"s record of public service is second to none, Garodnick said in a statement. In May, another East Side elected official, Assembly Member Micah Kellner, backed Schneiderman. Other East Side elected officials gave their support to Schneiderman"s opponent, Richard Brodsky, an Assembly member from Westchester County. Assembly members Jonathan Bing and Brian Kavanagh endorsed Brodsky May 4. Other candidates for attorney general include class-action attorney Sean Coffey, former superintendent of the State Insurance Department Eric Dinallo and Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice.
