Expensive Jewelry Stolen

    A 55-year-old Upper East Side woman"s pouch containing expensive jewelry was ripped from her arms in a May 16 robbery. After leaving a pizzeria at 8:15 p.m., the woman was followed by the mugger to a First Avenue building at East 85th Street. He bumped into her and tried to steal the pouch. Police said the two were in a tug-of-war over the pouch, but the mugger was able to wrest it from her. He fled north on First Avenue. The pouch contained $640 cash and five pieces of jewelry totaling $1,750, according to cops.
