By [Dan Rivoli] The Second Avenue Subway is set to get another infusion of federal cash from Congress. A House transportation appropriations bill for 2011 is going to contain $197 million for the Second Avenue Subway, Rep. Carolyn Maloney announced July 1. This is part of the $1.3 billion in aid the federal government agreed to pay for the construction of the first phase of the Second Avenue Subway, expected to be finished in 2016. The federal government has doled out more than $650 million to the project already, according to Maloney"s office. The appropriations bill must pass both the House and the Senate and be signed into law by the president.
