Greenmarkets Open Early

By [Megan Izen] The Upper East Side"s Saturday and Sunday greenmarkets will open early this year, bringing local produce to the neighborhood. This season, Upper Green Side, an environmental organization, will start accepting batteries, compact fluorescent lamps, #5 plastic, printer cartridges and corks for recycling. The market onâ?¯Saturdays is at Stephen of Hungary churchyard, East 82nd Street between First and York avenues from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Sundays, the greenmarket is at East 92nd Street and First Avenue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
