Koch Is Cool With Bloomberg Run

Though Rudy Giuliani [might not be entirely thrilled] that Mike Bloomberg is taking steps to make an independent White House bid, at least one of Bloomberg's predecessors thinks its a great idea.

"Oh yes, I think he'd be a fine president," said former Mayor and New York Press columnist Ed Koch to the Jewish Forward today. And though Koch has expressed his fondness for the candidacy of Senator Hillary Clinton in his weekly column, he did leave the door open for a Bloomberg switch.

“My support for Hillary is in the Democratic primary,” Koch said. “If Bloomberg were to come in, I would consider it at that time as to which of the two I’ll be supporting. I don’t have to make any determination now, because he is not yet a candidate.”
